Tire Preparation Service

Only very few amateur motorsport drivers have the opportunity to drive their competition vehicle on several test days a year and to use this opportunity to properly break-in new tires: Usually, a new set of tires is used to start directly in competition. Depending on the outside temperature, track conditions and length of the track, this can work well - but it doesn't have to. A tire that has just been used in competition can generate maximum grip after a few corners and guarantee best times or - in worst case - need a few kilometers to show its performance. Even if the start-up works under competitive conditions, this tire will never achieve the service life it could and its performance will drop sharply over time if it cannot rest after the “start-up process”.

At this point our tire preparation service comes in:

We prepare the tires so that they offer maximum performance for longer. The tire is mechanically roughened and also undergoes a temperature cycle without the tread being stressed. Unavoidable production residues in the tire tread are thus “transported away”, which would otherwise happen during the first few kilometers of the race. This is recommended for both slick and rain tires!

After this thermal and mechanical treatment, the tire can rest for at least 24 hours. This is important because only then, the entire process is successfully completed. The tire is then delivered with a tire tread that is no longer shiny (in contrast to untreated tires) and can be used immediately in competition. Now the tire will perform longer and better than without pre-treatment.

We offer this service for race tire orders from stock - we cannot offer this service on site at a race event due to the time required. So order right here in the shop with your next tire order! Of course, you can also do this by calling us, sending us an e-mail or using the contact form.
